Interestingly while Embra are strong favourites to beat Ulster at 8/15, they are 12/1 outsiders to win the Grand Final. Ulster are 7/1

The eternal optomist in me says we can do this but everything seems to be stacked against us.
Edinburgh with a strong rested squad, familiar with the ground and a coach that has been through enough rough times with them to make sure they won't choke again. Us on the otherhand are missing key players upfront as well as strike runners out the back. Form is poor, bar a few flashes which generally end with a dropped ball or turnover. Can we rediscover the form of early in the year? Of course we can, but we need big games from lots of players beyond marcel, stu and Jacob, none of which has been evident since the restart.

Maybe the bookies are just trying to encourage our Scottish friends to open their wallets in order to help pay out everyone who lumped on Leinster this time last year.big mervyn wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 7:13 pm Interestingly while Embra are strong favourites to beat Ulster at 8/15, they are 12/1 outsiders to win the Grand Final. We’ve shown that we can win in an empty Murrayfield over the last two seasons.
I’d have been very confident with Hendy, Bobby, Lukey, Reidy and Addy available for selection, not to mention the other injury doubts we have.
The team will largely pick itself in terms of who’s fit, except for the back three. Lyttle, Ludik and Stockdale?

Good team
That bench though! Good to see reidy back

You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.

Interesting.
Edinburgh do tend to bring on a big front row en masse early in the second half.

It we can keep parity up front for the first 60 we are in this. Big ask of the youngsters starting in the front row but it will be a good learning curve no matter what.

This isn't about tonight - it's about having O'Sullivan, O'Toole, Hume etc ready for the big boy games i the next few years to come. In a couple of season, we will have a good squad.jean valjean wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 12:40 pm It we can keep parity up front for the first 60 we are in this. Dan has named the starting front row he believes will give us the best chance of winning, but it’s unlikely to harm their development.Don_Alfonso wrote: ↑Sat Sep 05, 2020 2:05 amThis isn't about tonight - it's about having O'Sullivan, O'Toole, Hume etc ready for the big boy games i the next few years to come.
