Now that a precedent has been set, is it theoretically possible that Leinster could win a 5th ster without playing a match. simply by continuing to draw Les infected?

apparently young McPhillips more than a useful game for Leicester........and would have had " one of the tres of the season" had he managed to ground the ball after an amazing run. delighted for him.

Still looking for highlights

The game was available, then it was suddenly deleted, no highlights yet either, but seems both sides made for a good game to watch.

The abject collapse of the Scots and Welsh in the Cup at the weekend is a disgraceful let down to the Irish provinces who have to share the league with them. How did the Welsh win the 6N but fail to have even one competitive regional team?
Roll on the saffies coming in to make it a Pro 16 and I hope the Welsh end up losing a team or two if they don't start to shape up.

Not seen much of him yet, he had the fans crooning after the weekends game, happy for him to take the field anytime. He will sit behind George Ford, but he misses a lot of matches, so plenty of opportunity for him to show us what he can do. Zach Henry has been our recent second string 10, but he played at 15 against Connacht, so the club are making efforts to use Johnny.

Depth at 10 is not really an issue for Ulster it is more about strength.
I don't think mcphillips necessarily has the capability to go beyond Burns so can see why Ulster let him go.

Ulster need a better 10 than Burns so I'd like to see Lowry given a decent run there in the rainbow cup.

If that doesn't work out then back to the drawing board.

The bookies have Ulster 5/2 favourites to win this competition.

Other odds:

Montpellier 3/1
Leicester 5/1
Bath 11/2
L Irish 8/1
Northampton 10/1
Newcastle 12/1
Benetton 100/1

Ulster currently 4/9 to win in Northampton (6 points on the handicap)

Seems about right to me. It will however be a test of leadership and discipline to get the job done and keep 15 on the pitch at all times. Cards could decide the tournament.
