Not a great omen for an entertaining game with the appointment of Ben Whitehouse to referee.

Stockdale appears to have a calf injury and Henderson a ‘medical’ issue. And now Burns has picked up an injury too.

Get the wee man into the 10 shirt for Monday with Mads on the bench.

I believe it's a D4 directive lest Murray picks up a knock against Engerland >EW

This is what I’d go with:

1: EOS - needs to show he is top
Dog at LH, exposed to best scrummaging at start of match with a big engine.
2: Andrew - been in good form, McBurney went well last time - challenge has been set down, time to respond with McBurney off the bench.
3: Mr Reliable MM - looks dreadful in pro fit shirt....top player, without him at TH we’d be in the brad pitt big time.
4/5 carter/O’Connor
8: MC - goes without saying
6: Matt Rea - solid player
7: Reidy - Gets better with age
9: Cooney - If Ire needed a 9/10 hybrid itd actually be this fella. Back In form.
10: madigan
12 Hume - had a rest, time for extra exposure.
13 Marshall - added game time for match fitness.
14 Faddes- hopefully coming into his own injury free.
11 Gilroy - needs game time - possibly dropped pace?
15 - Lowry - getting better every game

McGrath- top player
McBurney - should be proper scrapping with Andrew over game time.
Milo - big unit, looks like he can do a decent job.
Treadwell - looks like he is maturing & attitude is right - simple game time rotation with O’Connor.
Murphy - covers the lot. If not Marcus Rea.
Alby - at least 20 mins.
McIlroy - covers back 3, and good game for experience. Faddes covers 13, & if allowing I’d like Lowry at 10 for last 20.

Andrew started against Glasgow and has put clear water between himself and McBurney. I agree he should start and also in at least one of the next two games in this block.

Hopefully Hume is fit.

I know we’ve a couple of family connections in the squad but I don’t think we brought the brothers Faddes over!

The backs are pretty versatile so there could be a case for McCann or Rea Jnr to be on the bench.

Still no sign of Hume then.

No Cooney - a D4 call?
Hope is not a strategy.

Hope Jones has a good game, could do with some pressure on Rea Snr. Blindside is there for the taking.

Shame no sign of McCann, Allison.

Could be a call up......then again may just be squad rotation, with the home game v scarlets coming up, some of the other selections may hint at that.
I just can’t see Cooney ever being ires main man. Likewise I don’t see ire bringing players in for one offs either. This series is the perfect time for blooding & gaining experience. No point going to do a few drills - better to introduce Casey from Munster to experience that environment- looks a cracking prospect.
Enjoying the game time investment in Lowry at 15 - starting to pay off.
