Re: Marcell Speculation
Muller was the best in my book brought experience, leadership and commitment. OK Ruan was possibly a better all round player but at the time Ulster needed an experienced leader to gel the pack

I remember Muller fondly. His last lap of the pitch ment alot to the big man. All we could do was give him a round of applause and a few cheers.
He gave a lot more to us, often hobbling around he never missed his turn.

Gysbert Johannes Muller. What. A. Man.

I thought he played in the 2nd row, rather than the back row that wins matches?

Ruan and Johannes. There's your definition of integrity.

A bit like Willie john, basically just hanging around until the back row kicked in to win the match.Lurgan Lad wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 10:27 pmI thought he played in the 2nd row, rather than the back row that wins matches?

Yes I never thought I’d see the day I reckoned that he would be surpassed - and in terms of overall contribution, both he and Muller would be ahead, but in terms of sheer, consistent brilliance in his position Marcell is in pole position for me..flatpass wrote: Surely the best player any of us have seen at Ravenhill in the professional era is a SA scrum half...the best of the best.
..one more thing
Re: Marcell Speculation
Consistent brilliance? I suppose Pienaar can only dream of such a thing.

The difference between Ruan and the other two is that Ruan was (and I can't think of a better word) a beautiful player.

I've no anger or disappointment towards Marcell, if he is doing what is best for himself who can complain?
Re: Marcell Speculation
Coetzee is a relatively injury prone player, something part and parcel of the way he plays the game.
If he continues to play hard and with his body on the line he will leave with well wishes. If he starts to conserve himself then feckim

Question is who is being announced and when.
Someone northbound and a new NIQ?
KOTH if you wish to drop a hint that would be handy.

Aye, but can they get it to a designated street, never mind a specific house in East Belfast?
And can they do that when they say they can or do you have to rearrange three times then have to go and collect from a depot a fortnight later, and when you do, they can't find it anyway?
Yodel - so called because you might as well yodel for a delivery, as that's just as effective.

I think we've seen enough this season to suggest Marcell isn't holding backColinM wrote:Coetzee is a relatively injury prone player, something part and parcel of the way he plays the game.
