Robbed

Should have tackled better earlier in the game, but still robbed.

‘To lose one may be regarded as a misfortune, to lose two looks like carelessness.’ Wilde was right.
Last week we went down to a much better side but acquitted ourselves well.
This was a disgraceful defeat. How many mistakes, how many stupid penalties?
I'm lost for words.

Usually I would say if the players made as few errors as the ref, only then can they blame him for defeat.

Today is the only day I can recall where I actually believe that, and that goes all the way back to certain Scottish refs.

I don't think I have heard a TMO call so many decisions in open play before either.

You say this after listening to a radio commentary?

Try watching the full match and decide then. The ref lost the confidence of both teams. He had to be repeatedly told of missed offences by his TMO. He was lead to a clear cut decision that a blind man could have seen but he couldn't.

And at the death, he had the best view of that last "try" and should have seen a very clear knock-on before the line by the scorer. If he didn't, he should at least have had enough doubt to ask for another look at it. I think the TMO might have had to tell him there was a knock on.

How can Jordie be penalised and yellow carded when he was going for the ball which was CLEARLY not straight?

Half the first team out, a disgraceful performance and an absolutely atrocious ref ... yet we still should have won. Hang your heads in shame for that absolute farce. Matt Rea what the actual fk was that?! Cost us the game by an in-ability to complete even the most basic of tasks. Livid.

U aren’t winning in England with 2 second rows having to go a full game, good games or not. MC was a big miss re leadership.....but the engine room was a killer. Too many easy access points for Gloucester - but ultimately lineout maul scrum deficiencies kill you all day long. Carter Henderson and to a lesser extent Treadwells ban holed us before the game.

Alan O'Connor didn't go the full game.

Ref gave him ten minutes rest during first half.

Albeit he then played 3-4 minutes into the red in second half.

Agree with a lot of that, when the locks are probably 4th and 5th choice for the big games. Reidy is a great impact player at this level, but not a starter. Personally I dont think Matty Rea or Jones are at this level and we should be looking at more game time for the likes of McCann and Allison if fit.

Carter had been marshalling the lineout superbly, even against Toulouse last week. That was missed today.

Great spirit and fight back led by Cooney who was superb but hugely frustrating to lose that.

He should have caught that, yes. Cooney, however, has to control that situation. Rea is coming in too fast, even if he caught the ball he could have been isolated. There was 30 seconds to go. We needed a cool head to tell the forwards where to be and to get set to do nothing but pick n go with plenty of support. Many of these forwards today are Pro 14 squad players at best.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

If I cared about this tournament, I'd be apoplectic about the standard of refereeing. He was woeful.
