Rory Best

Post by Seagull »

Just listened to Rory Best interview on Radio Ulster, Talkback today.
He basically offered his services to Ulster Rugby as he wanted to give something back.
What better a coach & mentor?
Have a listen if you haven’t heard the interview.

I'd find a role for him in the academy.

I reckon it’s too soon for such a direct involvement.

Let Hendy stamp his authority on the place.

Rory should be bussed around every school in the Province in the meantime as an Ulster Rugby ambassador.

Think he has already been volunteering and giving up his time to work alongside the Rugby Development staff to fill the place of Willie Anderson.

Looks like he's coaching, just not here.

Rory will not stay away too long. He'll miss his cattle too much.

Having relatively recently found an English Premiership team to support, we all now have a North American one as well! Any chance of a pre-season friendly in August?

If he's serious about coaching he should look at ROG. He has gone round the world to learn from quality coaching environments. Now he looks to be in the hot seat at LaRochelle as Jonno Gibbs continues on his scenic route home. Although I think for Rory long term he will want to stay local.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

I don't think Rory has any long term plans for coaching. He's given above and beyond in his playing career and imagine his family will come first, including the farm. In saying that a few months in seattle at this time of the year is tempting.
