Great news as he has instilled a new confidence and brought on the youngsters.
Can the boys pull it out of the hat tomorrow to so their appreciation to the big man?

Great news - he's definitely got us going in the right direction -hope he can get a big performance out of the lads tomorrow. But great for our ongoing development.

Has he got a "homesick clause"?

Would have tied him down for as long as possible rather than just the two years.

Two years more of Dan. That's great news. No pressure to fulfill the contract though. Thanks UR, for the rough idea of what might happen though.

Me too but the thinking might be that UR could maybe offer him a better contract in 2 years after the current Covid mess is over ..

Fantastic news Dan has signed on again.

From the bigger picture perspective McFarland signing on again makes Ulster an even more attractive proposition for any would be IQ player thinking of coming North. The gaurantee of top coaching will be a draw.

Another season come and gone.

Anyone confident Dan will win us something before his next contract is up?

No. Not confident. Unless another run in the Parker Pen materialises. Even then, the way the team crumbled in the second half against Leicester shows he has massive work to do. There is no chance of winning the other comps. Which won't be down to Dan of course. Other teams are motoring ahead in terms of personnel. We can't compete. I'm not sure Leinster will see the annual silverware haul continue.

Dans doing a very good job all things considered when seeing where we’ve come from when he signed on. It may well be the case that the next head coach reaps the benefits of Dans foundations & a possible fit for purpose academy producing a decent amount of home grown talent.

Ultimately Dan is just a head coach, this squad has a talent ceiling. We all know the pack can’t mix it consistently with big aggressive packs, & there is a mental fragility when under pressure. Ulster’s biggest positive next season will be potential home crowds, that can get the boys over the line against the best in Europe bar 6/8 sides.

Any trophies on the horizon?.....of course not. Frankly unless it’s the challenge cup, it’s unrealistic. It’d be interesting if private sponsorship came into UR whether the Irfu would actually sanction recruitment targets.

I’d anticipate Dan leaves in 2 yrs, with fans thanks. Whether Jeremy Davidson May be interested who knows.

Dan has done a super job and we should be keeping him.
As for winning, we can't beat Leinster so no we won't win silverware.
