Leinster v ULSTER MoTM?

Post by fermain »

This game highligted our weaknesses and lack of strength and depth. For me personally, a reasonable game against the best in Europe.

And lets face it we had a number of key personnel missing.

But, who was yer man of the match?

Jordi for me last week and Jordi again this week. He was superb against a top backrow. Shame his no.8 was so poor alongside him

Jordi was decent. Literally every other Ulsterman went AWOL.

Jones for me was MOTM. Great energy and effort. Hope for the future as is McIlroy. I agree that Jordi was top class too. Cooney ineffectually kicked all the possession away and Burns highlighted again that he is not a good enough 10. Things speeded up and attacks started to make ground when Madigan arrived and further when Shanahan joined him.

Regarding Cooney’s kicking, SHs don’t box kick to contest as much any more because teams are wise to it. They are shepherding much better and the actual return of box kicking is in favour of opposition now.
Box kicks tend to go longer and teams look for a tackle and organised defence from it.
