Hopefully get some slightly unknown but rock hard and reliable Saffer back row.

I always liked the play of that fella Wiese from Leicester who came to them from the Cheetas.

Not bothered about paying big bucks for a big name- hard graft and go forward and availability are the main things in my mind.

Where would you prefer someone from, Leinster or from the southern hemisphere?

Home grown

Marcus Rea is 23 and has 5 caps
David McCann is 21 on Sunday and has 6 caps

Give them 20 games next season, best education they'll get, watching them make mistakes and learn I can stomach and will set us in good stead for the seasons to follow. Similar aged players with potential at Leinster are given more opportunities in a much more comeptitive squad.

McCann is a supposed player that only comes once in a generation. Let him play.

We are definitely a heavy duty carrier 8 short, neither of the pups are that, although I hope both get increased exposure next season. Personally I’d want an overseas signing, our backrow options are now far too lightweight carrier wise. Gotta be an unsigned saffer about.
Dan must be thinking “FFS”.

We are for sure shore heavy duty carrier, but we are short much more than that. One swallow won't make a summer at this stage, and potentially paying over the odds. The answers may be within if given opportunities.

Long term potential gain for short term pain.

I like Timoney at 8. He has speed rather than brutish power.

We're always building for "next season". We've been doing it for 7 or 8 years now, like a dog chasing a car.

I want "next season" to become "this season".

It is being rumoured that Munster have come up with more cash to offer James Cronin a new contract,.
The collapse of the Nakarawa deal has freed up more cash to support Munster,
If this rumour is true it is an absolute disgrace and a further slap in the face to Ulster Rugby,

Don't we all Crouchie, I feel your pain brother. Truth is if you assembled a pack of Ulster home grown forwards since 2000 you still couldn't be convinced next season would be "this season".

It’s rumoured that all four Provinces have made contact with Cronin.

Surprised he wasn't given a new deal by Munster. Provinces can't outbid each other financially for a player, so comes down to non-financial matters if more than one province is interested.

The rumour sounds far fetched even for Irish Rugby, it is Ulster's money to spend, nothing to do with Munster. Sure they have a couple of wealthy private investors on speed dial it seems.

Bound to be another Pedre Wannenburg type playing in South Africa who could do a job.
