Glasgow v ULSTER MoTM?

Post by fermain »

A big game for Ulster, and a great win in a tough game.
Good running and offloading with real committment. Plenty of errors on both sides which only led to an exciting finish.

No bonus point this week, but who was yer Ulsterman of the Match?

Love to give it to Lowry, but Madigan was inspired. Didn't ever think I'd be saying that.

Lowry was excellent but in terms of the match as a whole I think Madigan deserves the plaudits.
Hope is not a strategy.

Voted for Lowry as its hard to see past two tries and a decent contribution. The fumble at the start could have happened to anybody. As others have said, Madigan was super, specially loved the rip near the end.

VERY honourable mentions to Mikey and Mads, but I gave my vote to Nordi, but it was a close run thing.

Nordi for me in the forwards, overall Mads, best "2nd choice" outhalf we've had by a distance in the pro era.

Madigan signing up there with Nick Williams with regard bang for buck and expectation.

Michael Lowry. With the little ball he received he performed some magic out there. Has anyone told him: 'He'S ToO SmAlL tO PlAy ProFeSsIonAl RuGbY'

It's the size of the fight in the dog. Lowry is a class act. He has the speed and footwork to make defenders hesitate and must be a nightmare for big guys to get low enough to tackle before he's gone flying past,

Lowry for me. And I loved during his chase of his own kick ahead he was complaining to the ref that he was being blocked from tackling the giant Glasgow No 8!
His ability to see where the space is is uncanny

And presumably the Alby vote is a mistake?!

Lowry

Full back suits him and Ulster —,The risk at out half is as much to Lowry as for Ulster .

At full back he has a better chance of avoiding being hit and being tackled on his terms . At out half he can be hit marginally late frequently . He could be giving 6 to 8 stone to a back row forward .

To night he had to play out half for 10 minutes not 80 which is substantial less .

Me I want to see him play every week not every other month.

He will play more 10 next year and your opinion will change.

Madigan for me. He is proving to be an inspired signing.

Lowry was the standout individual. I hope Cooney & Madigan get a lot more game time together because Madigan is just a much classier player than Burns. Cooney was rusty with the boot. Several box kicks went miles too far. If last year was anything to go by, Cooney seems to need a few games to blow the cobwebs off after a stint without games.
