Looks good- surprised no Doak but good to see Cooney starting. No EoS? Harry Sheridan on the bench again is good. Thats a very dynamic front row on the bench too, strong side overall ..

Not surprised by Doak’s omission I thought that Shanahan was the more effective scrum half on the night. I think Doak has potential but not the finished article as yet. Wee Dave seemed to be more lively and got the ball out quicker. I am far from being Shanahan’s no.1 fan but give the guy credit he dose take his chances and seems to have at last grasped the need to know where his players are before he digs the ball out.As someone said something must have stuck from his years behind Ruane and Wee Paul. I see Ruane has gone to the Sharks on some sort of loan or short term contract for “some” URC matches.

Would like to see David McCann get a decent run. Looked good when he was playing for the Irish U20's and we really need a few such prospects to start kicking on.

I think this will be a tough one to watch. Last week was sort of bearable due to the experimental nature of our team. This team has much more of a first XV look about it and if we get hoked it'll be a bad sign. It will be interesting to see if we get a flavour of the new tactic they are talking about by putting dual first receivers either side of a midfield ruck. I always thought that was a tactic that sounded good but was very hard to execute well because you'll have to marshall pods of forwards on both sides of the ruck as well or risk easy turnovers for the opposition.

Promising start. Billy with the 50/22 and Roberts with plenty of carries. Lowry and Balocoune get time time on the ball.

Watch the training promo with Stockdale doing his best bandleader impressions, I think the Cat can be heard telling him to knock it on the head lol

Aside wee Bradley punches way above his weight!
