Afoa's squad status

there's a competition on the Ulster website which got me thinking...is Afoa actually an Ulster player yet? Everything I've read says he's coming post RWC, but he's on the squad list (without a picture) for us. Is he simply clubless whilst with the All Blacks?

i'd say officially he's clubless because he signed a 2 and a half year contract instead of 3. However unofficially I'd count him an Ulster player
