Ulster v Portugal??

Post by cables »

At the most recent Supporter's Club event, I picked up a 2008 Fixtures card but did not look at it until this evening.

It lists:
Fri 14 Nov Ulster v Portugal at 19:30

Does anyone have any information relating to this (on/off etc)

The Connacht v Portugal fixture was announced by Connacht back in July as 5 Nov.

The match programme fixtures page for the Stade game does not include a Portugal game.

Don't doubt your information YM - just that I cannot find any reference to the game.

Enjoyed watching Portugal at RWC and it would be good to see them run out at Ravenhill (assumed venue).

It's not that far away 14 th November you would have thought a wee mention in yesterdays programme would have been appropiate :?

Was talking to a man who spotted it at the time and enquired with UR soon after only to be told that "at the time of printing, it was likely, but unconfirmed".

I might be a pessimist, but I'm assuming that the match is not now going ahead for whatever reason(s), or we had heard more about it by now.

Perhaps I underestimate UR's ability to muck up communication.

Obviously two posters talking to different doggies and the birdies would not seem to have heard anything.

I recieved a fixtures card with a recent purchase of a Munster ticket for a friend - never checked it until now, but it's on there.

I makes sense to give those not on international duty match a run out in what's a month long gap from the ML. It'll also be a nice warm up to seeing Rory score the winning try against the all blacks.

Now, will Portugal play an anthem? :stir:
