Re: Card question
Either Irish teams infringe more or refs go with a preconception that they do. Couldn't tell you which though

Irish teams get more Scottish referees ?

Re: Card question
You may recall Munster winning the Specsavers Fairplay League - they are now basically at the other end of that League this season along with Connacht and Ulster - Leinster are only half as bad.

Re: Card question
Scots reffs dont appear to give many cards to Scots sides, but then again they only have 2 all Scots matches.

Re: Card question
I looked at the stats on a per game basis.
There were 23 (of 55) games with no cards.
18 games with a total of 1 card.
9 games with a total of 2 cards.
5 games with a total of 3 cards.
No Welsh or Scottish team OR Leinster were shown more than 1 card in a game.
Connacht at Home were shown 2 cards in each of 2 games (Paterson and Bodily were refs).
Munster (Away) were shown 2 cards in each of 2 games (Jones and Rolland were refs).
Ulster (Away) were shown 2 cards in each of 2 games (Paterson and Lewis were refs).
Ulster (Away) were shown 3 cards in 1 game (Allan was ref).
Connacht, Munster need to address this. Ulster needs to wise up.

From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!
Re: Card question
Interesting table - especially the home/away trend.
What would happen if you stripped out the derby matches?

Re: Card question
I'm pretty sure we could read anything we wanted into that. I think I'll stick with "Ulster need to concede less penalties, if they are playing at home or away with a Irish or non-Irish ref"
