The Curse of the Green Thingies

Whatever you do don't click on them wee green links – you never know where they’ll take you, and what’s more – most of the time you cannot get back. Lost forever in a world of advertising…..

Tacky or what; nothing so overtly commercial on Scoop.

(I'm more of a BBC man myself....)

Well, they were there last night. I saw them. They were everywhere I looked. They just came out of the night and took the place over. Honest, you gotta believe me. Wee green words with underlining everywhere - never saw so many since I got my Latin exam marked in third form.

Don't say you weren't warned.......

TOK - what's these ''green thingees'' ?? If it's the link to the fru website you are referring to - well that's some thanks for rescuing you and yours from obscurity, near oblivion and ''The Workhouse''!!! I'm sure your old granny would not be pleased with your lack of gratitude !!

Tighty,

Not at all my good man! God save the FRU!

I was referring to something much more sinister!

When I was logged in last night around 2300 hours the site was invaded by hyperlinks. It so happened they were lime green. There were thousands of them - at least two or three in every post. They even turned up in monikers and other areas of the board inaccessible to mere mortals like myself.

Whenever the cursor hovered over any link in particular the dialogue box came up with "Best Buy" or "Best Location" or whatever. I just assumed Fermain had sold his soul to the devil for a mess of pottage!

I was offered free trips to exotic shores, the chance to buy gadgets I do not need, advice on what to do with all the money I no longer have. It was retail hell. Hardly slept a wink at all.

Anyhow, if they are still here they are keeping a very low profile.
