Mind you, an f2.8 300mm might have been taking the widdle a bit, but it's a big place and I was up in the nosebleeds.
Funny, John Dickson got pulled in Paris about his camera too!

Even though it was his camera work in Belfast that got him pulled! :salut:
Anybody ever here the outcome of that.

As to the assault on John, it was reported but I don't think anything happened. Will ask.
IIRC it wasn't just John.

Smoking at the ground does my head in.

On the prom the last game some man a few feet from me standing right behind someone smoking cough continously on purpose for the duration of the smoke. This then developed into an argument with the smoker. Thought for a second it would come to punches but didnt.

Smoking is actually allowed on the prom, as it's not covered.

presume that'll change with the rebuild.

But UR have had a theoretical ban on smoking for years.

Not according to their ticketing T&C's...
13 Smoking is not permitted in any covered area of the ground in line with anti-smoking legislation.
I'm off them about three months-ish now, so have always been aware of these things.

With reference to the coughing thing... If while I was smoking someone had asked me not to, I'd have put it out. If someone stood behind me and faux coughed, I'd have lit one off the other for the full eighty.

They've changed that, at one point there was a total ban.

Although, I'd guess that the stands wouldn't qualify as enclosed areas under the law any way.

Yeah somebody else brought up a total ban in the ground before... When was this?
'Cos I've always smoked and never encountered an issue. Although I'd never have lit up in the middle of the terrace it has to be said.

Smoking ban was 2007 IIRC, think it was prior to that.

No, there really is no place for smoking in such a confined space where it can affect others. I see no issue with the use of mobile phones and I'm not fully convinced that this could be enforced, however I do understand the point that mobile phones are an awful distraction. It would be lovely to have a cinema style policy, maybe an announcement before the game of when all phones should be switched off?

Selfie competition winners training with the squad doesn't say to me they are interested in banning phones or cameras anytime soon!! :cowboy:
