Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Possibly a good thing, instead of all this rumours, fans get excited and then they don't sign.
Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Been posted by a taff on 606 that David Lyons of Scarlets is heading our way
Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
he's on a 4 year deal there from 2008
You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.
Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Then again whats a contract worth in Wales these days
The taff in question has said he has a get our clause after 2 years - which is now

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
He may have a 4 year deal but as he has a get out clause. Here is the story from Wales Online.pip14 wrote:he's on a 4 year deal there from 2008

Lyons is a great player and I think he is on a par with Rush. The Scarlets work him really hard as there is no-one else to share the ball carrying duties - he's a great player.
Let's wait for an official announcement - but if he comes, I for one think he will be a good signing

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
http://www.walesonline.co.uk/rugbynatio ... 6614816/2/Lyons apparently has a clause in his contract which could see him leave Parc y Scarlets.
Irish province Ulster are believed to be interested with their deal to take Blues star Xavier Rush to Belfast on the point of collapse.
Powerful ball-carrier Lyons, who has been capped 44 times by the Wallabies and has two years left on Scarlets deal, is also understood to be on the wanted list of several French clubs.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
not sure he rates in the gym - anyone have any comparable stats on bench-pressing?Off the Top wrote:I think he is on power with Rush.
On the field though I'd say he'd be on a par...
Left hand, right hand, it doesn't matter. I'm amphibious.
Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Story also appearing on this website however they may just be copying the story on Fails Online...
http://www.thisissouthwales.co.uk/sport ... ticle.htmlIt has also emerged that there is still uncertainty surrounding the future of Australian No. 8 David Lyons, who is understood to be still mulling over a possible move away from Parc y Scarlets.
Lyons is contracted for another two years, although it appears there are still issues to be resolved.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
I have it on good authority that we made a move for George Smith before he signed up with the Frenchies, guess we couldnt match the money

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Agree with the comments about Lyons...he could do with shedding a few pounds though.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
yip, I advised a few Scarlet fans that a fat Aussie at no8 isn't perfect - they agreed but we also agreed he is a damned good player. Would prefer Rush but a pretty good replacement IF it happens.browner wrote:Agree with the comments about Lyons...he could do with shedding a few pounds though.
Before you insult somebody you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you insult them you'll be a mile away and have their shoes!
Bullshit: the art of making the idiotic sound sensible.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
as has already been said Lyons is a mighty fine player and was probably the Scarletts best player last season, a big abrasive ball carrying 8 with over 40 international caps to his name, some may think he is overweight but he certainly gets around the pitch and makes plenty of hard yards..... would be a good signing if we could get him......

Maybe "The Hill" at pre-season training will help him with his weight!

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Now that the Rush deal is dead in the water, McMillan is apparently in talks with Ulster re a possible return to Ravenhill...
