I know we need bodies in the backline but a non International level NIQ back doesn't seem the wisest of uses of our spots (though these days I'd say it's more like you have a finite resource of capital with Nuci for NIQ depending on various factors) nor our cash.

I'd have thought that the outside backs was the area in our squad that was least in need of improvement, though he's no doubt a quality player that'll improve our team. Will be interesting to see where he ends up playing for us, when Marshall etc is back I'm half expecting Addison to move to full back and have a tilt at the Ireland 15 jersey post Kearney.

Very likely. Nelson perhaps on his way too. AK isn't really ready yet. Lyttle is brittle. Lowry isn't a 15. Gilroy's back is a worry and Luke is going to be rusty for a while, at best.

A fairly experienced guy who can play 13-15 seems like good business.
