Tamaiti Horua, the final player yet to link up with the Ulster Squad, is expected in Belfast early next week...
Ulster signed the 28 year old flanker, who can also play No. 8, in March this year on a two year contract.
While the news that Rory Best will miss the whole season means that Ulster are looking to recruit a new hooker, Horua is the final player from the original 09-10 roster to link up with the squad with other newcomers Andy Kyriacou and Dan Tuohy having already settled into the squad.
Born in New Zealand but raised in Melbourne, Horua comes to Ulster from Super 14 franchise the Western Force, and is one of a number of key players leaving their ranks this summer. Prior to signing with the Force, he played rugby for 2 years in Japan but began his pro rugby career in 2001 with the Canberra based Brumbies, having been spotted by then Coach Eddie Jones whilst playing for Victoria in the Australian Schools Championships.
He had to wait until late in the 2002 Super 12 season to get his Brumbies debut but impressed sufficiently to be named as Captain of the Australian U21 side for the World Championships in 2002, with his side narrowly losing 24 - 21 in the final against South Africa. He was a potential contender for an Australian World Cup berth in 2003 for Australia but didn't get the call and instead represented Australia A in this season.
In 2006 he took up a contract with Japanese club Toyota after allegedly being courted by both the Western Force and Leinster but returned to Australia in 2008, linking up with the Perth based franchise.
Once he arrives in Belfast next week, Horua will undergo a medical and provided he's given a clean bill of health will immediately link up with his new squad mates. Look out for more news on

hmmm maybe the dogs are figments of some peoples dreams or imaginations.
Glad he's coming for numbers reasons, seems he's a big lump of unfulfilled potential. Lets hope he is good enough to really add something and not just take dent the likes of Chris Henry's development.

A close friend of my second cousin says her neighbour's son's girlfriend's sister who is doing "hospitality" @ the Tallships heard from one of the fat blokes in Eventsec that there is a strong rumour that Horua secretly arrived yesterday (wearing makeup,womans clothing and a wig) and will jump ship on sunday morning to make his way to Ravenhill.

talking of eventsec, they're just as pleasant there as they are at Ravers... ie NOT!
very abrupt herding of people, and in other places, no visible presence (when needed) at all
anyway, UR obviously don't mind spending the money then!

Following up on the rumour that Horua will have to retire - after the match a player told me the same was true for Matt.
Not certain but not looking good. Sad end to a career if true

I predict a telling off for you from YM
Has been mentioned elsewhere, unfortunate indeed but may be a saving grace for Caldwell if we are signing a Mueller

Heard the same myself, hoping he can recover though, the guy bleeds Ulster.
