Leinster v Clermont/

Post by browner »

20-10 at half-time.

Great game to watch.
Leinster not in it for the first 15, go 0-10 down then claw their way back with a pen from Sexton and a try from Heaslip after a beautiful run from Bod who ghosted past James drew two defenders then slipped a pass out the back of his hand to Heaslip who charged over.

James seems rattled after that Bod run, misses an easy pen. Then from a long clearance by Kearney which is touched by Floch as it goes over his head he gathers and puts it out on the full.
From the resulting line-out Leinster manufacture aruck and quick ball to Heaslip and he barrels over for his second try converted again by Sexton.A further long range pen by Sexton before the break puts Leinster in control.....great stuff.

Superb....Leinster 29 v 28 Clermont.
Have to say i thought Clermont blew it and James in particular....still Leinster never gave up.

Excellent match. Clermont were by far the better team. Leinster weren't in it at scrum or lineout. Why the hell didn't Parra take the kicks. Well done Leinster

Great game to watch and exciting for most of the 80 minutes.Brock James cost Clermont the game with his poor kicking. The last drop goal attempt miss was down to wonderful Leinster defence but the earlier one was an awful miss for a kicker of any reasonable standard plus he missed a number of kickable penalties.

Still, I am delighted for Leinster who battled away until the end.

Just to say as well Shane Horgan will have a sigh of relief after that charge down could have cost them the game.Still, IZ guess that was really Kearney's fault.

Perhaps not too late.

I think RTE2 in 2 minutes.

Agreed, fantastic game. I was very impressed with CA - excellent performance. Also, Leinster showed a lot of grit and determination in coming back into the game but as previous posters have said CA would have won comfortably if James had kicked his penalty goals or hadn't bottled the dropped goal attempts or they had turned to Parra.
