The flow to England continues

Post by cjp »

Wasps have signed prop Peter Bracken from Connacht on a two-year deal.
Bracken is the third Irishman to arrive at the Causeway Stadium this summer, with Eoin Reddan and Jeremy Staunton joining the English champions in June.

"Peter gave some good props a rough ride last season and he is keen to succeed at the highest level," said Wasps forwards coach Craig Dowd.

Bracken, who is rated as a good technician, has represented Ireland at A and under-18 levels.

He said he was relishing the opportunity to help Wasps defend their Guinness Premiership title.

"I'm very excited about moving to Wasps. Playing for such a successful team, and in the Premiership, is a huge challenge but one that I am looking forward to immensely," said Bracken.

"I'd like to thank all the staff and supporters at Galwegians and Connacht for their help and support in the past five years, and wish them all the best for the future

It speaks volumes about where the players see their future, and what the standard of the CL is. methinks the IRFU policy will have to be re-thought. We can't afford to keep players out of the team just because they play abroad.

Not only that but if these guys are getting a first fifteen place on these teams then why are we still bimbling around in the dark not playing them and giving them more exposure.

totally agree f

if Murphy and the Easterbys can be in the squad from the mainland, then these guys have to be considered if their performances warrant it
