Heiny Cup 19/20 Other Sides

Post by UlsterNo9 »

Brave performance by Connacht earlier, eventually running out of steam and allowing Toulouse in for the TBP. Leading 18-17 after 60 minutes a repeat of their feat in 2013 at the same venue looked on the cards.

Only watched the highlights of Treviso Vs Northampton, Treviso will be kicking themselves, surrendered a sizeable lead and then a penalty conceded at the death which Biggar kicked for a Saints win.

Currently watching Lyon Vs Leinster.

The Mexicans are 10-0 up at the break.

Lyon remind me of myself in my youth, all over them but with no penetration.

La Rochelle did the other groups a wee favour there.

Wide open for the "lucky loser" QF spots. Munster 11, Saints/Gloucester/Glasgow 9. Either Ulster/ASM look a lock in.

Think Munster might struggle to get out of pool and will need to win at racing to do so. Expect sarries to win final 2 games which will jump them over mun and take the no.7 seed.

Hard to believe there's been no discussion on what was a pretty exciting final!

Congrats to Dizzy and Gareth - gwan and party like it's 99 boys. :fleg:

Felt a bit sorry for Nigel at the death there!

Why?

He knew exactly what the position was - he just took longer to lead the TMO to the same position than he would have liked.

Took the TMO to the second time of asking before he realised what answer Nigel wanted.

Because he was let down by the technology, the TMO was slow on the uptake and he ended up being put on the spot in what was a fairly unsatisfactory and awkward ending to a very good European Cup Final.

There were enough decisions in the last few minutes to mean that the French will feel hard done by for years to come. I've a wee tiny bit of sympathy for them, it was a messy ending.

Not sure why there was no drop goal either, they were right under the posts at one stage.

The penalty into the corner with six minutes to go should have been poked at the sticks, difficult on the touch line or not, it was a one point game.
