Scotland V France

Post by Jockster »

Scotland ahead 14:9 so far, thanks to a try from Tommy Seymour

I think I met Bastareaud during my formative years---he's put on a bit of weight perhaps.

No. I played against him.

I thought I would be propping against him at u13s but he lined up in the centres.

Give Scotland a medal for stupidity. A minute to go, Hogg lets the ball roll dead stupidly. They then pass the ball through 4, 5 or 6 set of hands before meekly kicking the ball to France to run down the last few seconds & boot it out. :duh: :duh: :duh:

Idiocy, but of course we know Scotland can't run the length of the pitch, still they could have bloody tried.

These bizarre last minute tactical decisions by losing team seem to be very commonplace this season. At least in club competitions some of them can be explained by the LBP.

Jonathan Davies was giving out about throwing missed passes long before the one that gifted France their try.
(Duncan Williams winced when he saw that intercept, I hope)
I'd agree with McGeechan that going for 2 edge of range pens (esp on that bog) were their chief mistakes.
Reflected their lack of confidence.
I think your man's brain had stopped working due to mental exhaustion at the end, can't explain that nonsense any other way.
