Ireland v.Scotland

Post by Spiffsson »

Pretty disappointing first half with scrappy stuff from both sides. Some good turnovers by Ireland with SOB to the fore. But poor defence and sloppy handling. Quiffy/Fitz/Darse looking nothing special. Time to ring the changes Joe. Jackson to 10 and Quiffy to 12. And a decent run for D. Kearney

Absolutely amazing that an Ireland side can be this appalling.

Zebo scored though off a brutally forward pass. All's good.

We'll be seeing Tuohy in white for the first game of the season, equally as shocking as Darcy and Fitz.

Zebo... Man of the Match missed tackle and deliberate attempt to trip aside.

Dreadfully disappointing. Why are commentators Robson/Quinny raving about Mads, who was distinctly average, as was the Irish midfield of Darse/Payne. Bowe poor as well by his own standards. Totally crap tackling all round.
Out of the squad - at least Tuohy, Darse, Conan. Boss should het the heave too but probably won't.
Fair play to Zebo - a few blips but took his chance

Apart from a missed tackle can't really see what he did wrong

That is a certainty.

I am formally informing the class that my career as a pundit is over. The SKY pundits clearly cannot be wrong so I have to concede that Boss, Quiff, Fitzgerald and Zebo were outstanding, and that makes it clear I know nothing.

Goodbye.

Mikeyjoe I am the worst pundit in the known universe, therefore it would be wrong for me to ask which of all his missed tackles you actually saw and simply say, you are right & I'm talking ballix.

Goodbye ........ again. :banghead:

Very disappointing game but hopefully that is the one poor game out of the way.

Some players who may have been still considered have probably sealed their fate. Touhy, Conan and Darcy certainly although I doubt any of them were ever seriously considered.

The wingers would both be spending RWC time in Ireland based just on that showing. I would not be hugely surpised to see Joe give Dave Kearney a proper chance to push himself into the squad.

SOB, Henry and Zebo probably about the best of those in green though none of them were error free and the first two named drifted out of the game.

Oh and it is an awful shame we have such a lack of depth at 9 that a guy as hopeless as Boss will almost certainly be in the squad. I don't enjoy being critical of any Irish player but really his presence in our squad is a source of real pain for me.
It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.
