To be honest I can see some logic to Kelleher making it. He won't start but could be a decent impact option off the bench.

I'd have Herring starting for Ireland but wouldn't take him on this tour as he wont be a starter and kelleher better bench option.

The herring / kelleher argument is symptomatic of how ulster players are represented in the southern media.
Kellehers inadequacies are 'work ons' but herrings are reasons for non selection. The same applied to best, trimble, Jackson, humphries.
Baloucoune is next on the list I believe, despite being a proven player at HC level he would still need to prove himself on a summer tour before getting into an ireland squad.

The Southern media love mocking the english and welsh journos for their selections citing lack of recent form, but still see Ringrose and Ryan as nailed on tourists and possible starters.

Both are fine players but whilst partly injury related, neither has set the world on fire recently and a case could be made not to take them.

Personally I do think Kelleher has a higher ceiling in career terms than Herring although Rob is still the incumbent for Ireland at the minute.

The Dublin media now think Sexton, Ryan and Ringrose could potentially miss out, with Henderson and Healy seen as more likely tourists behind Murray henshaw Beirne and furlong.

Probably only dawned on them now as reputation counts for everything in irish rugby, especially what you did 3 years ago.

Sexton shouldn't even be near this squad.

Ryan and Ringrose have had very quiet seasons, influenced by availability issues of course.

Healy probably has a decent chance. Sutherland has picked up an injury. Genge and Marler weren’t in the email group. Mako, Jones and Healy wouldn’t make a particularly dynamic trio though.

I reckon Porter could go with TF and KS on the other side.

Fingers crossed for Hendy. He showed up well on and off the field last time.

Leinster fans enraged. No Sexton, Ryan, Ringrose, Healy...

Expect some heavy trolling online.
