A further example would be the full back catching a ball fails to do so cleanly but the ball goes backwards not forwards it is not a knock but he hasn't control of the ball.

ie the it is the direction of the ball is heading before it touches the ground defines the knock on or forward pass.
The current interpretation seema to be if the player loses the ball forward and fails to regain control of it before it touches the ground then it is a knock on regardless of the final direction of travel. The law should be clarified.

The only game I'll be watching this weekend is the France v England match.

It can be a bit much watching the Leinster rejects and the Saffer/Kiwi rejects in the one weekend.

Wow - team announced over an hour ago and not one comment on it.
Shows how much interest there is.

Watching Leinster and Munster tonight, there does seem to be a hell of a crop of young players on the way.

Not to mention the ones we know are at Ulster.

Maybe some have a Kiwi/Safer granny and perhaps could play for Ireland.

Likewise. Good luck to them an' all but hockey is a hard watch.

Ireland 1-0 up at half time.
Wales 15 - 0 up after 15 minutes.

No competition which to watch... while doing a 2,000 piece jigsaw. As sad a Saturday afternoon as I can think of.

GB win 2 - 1.
Well, I've given it a try but that's probably enough. Matches are interesting when my daughters are playing (not internationals sadly) but in itself, hockey's not a game for the uninitiated. Having said that, still more interesting than watching Wales thump Italy.

By the way, I'll never complain again about poor commentary from Robbo. This was grim.

England France first half at an incredibly high standard, far more exciting than Ireland's 'gameplan'.
