England no 8 should have two red cards.

Referee watching a different game from me.

England must have promised him a KFC. Grossly out of shape.

The simple truth is that the game was won by the bigger, stronger team. Not much difference in terms of skills or tactics.

What was the TMO doing during this game because this ref needed his help. Some very poor decisions and a weak TMO.

I assume the ref was welsh looked at the number of penalties given against Ireland in the first half many given for off side with extremely few against the english for the same offence and decided he didn't want the Irish to win .

That said with two back row forwards playing lock the Irish pack couldn't control the line out effectively and were lacking weight in the scrum and maul and lacked the ability to carry the ball over the gain line .

But the game showed exactly why I consider that only 4 to 6 players make it past the under 20s

The Idea of playing a second row at 6 is a tried and tested failure because the playing 6 is about defence not just attack and ball carrying . You can play a back row in the second row but the reverse is less successful Beirne is basically a back row who is big enough to play second row he has the ability to time his ferreting to win ball at the breakdown a skill possessed by very few second rows. Back row is about providing a cover defence. leinsters back row is a defensive back row the ball carriers are the front and second rows especially outside the 22.In possession the leinster back row support the ball carrier and secure retention of the ball .

There is this obsession that the back row must be big ball carriers sorry folks that is the task of the front and second rows since in the average game now you only have about 4 scrums in each half and possibly double that in the number winnable line outs .
Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist

I thought for a while there was no tmo after the first incident with the no 8. It is scandalous he was allowed to go un punished and repeat his action. Every blow to the head has a consequence. The second one could have been prevented if the first was dealt with.

There is too much interpretation around high tackles. Simple rule should be if you hit the head it is a straight red. There may be the odd misjustice but at the minute players are getting away with too many high hits.

Everything has been said, very disappointing. The report on 'the Front Row Union' is very good and sums it up.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

I praised them below but I find their latest article on the Irelend.Japan game ludicrous. It was a really enjoyable watch and Japan are a very good team so Ireland did very well to beat them.
