I'm willing to put Linda up. I'll even do her a fry-up in the morning ...

I hope he has more success than Jamie Oliver.

Could be worse Mike, could be 24 hours with your beloved Naomi Long.

Re: 24 hours with Mike Nesbitt
I don't know what this is all about but I know Mike Nesbitt is the new leader of the UUP, no relation of Dermot who came across as a nice guy during the GFA or the actor character James. Lot o' Nesbitts oop north
Re: 24 hours with Mike Nesbitt
Wants to spend time with a 'socially disadvantaged' family.
Anyone care to declare themselves socially disadvantaged?
Actually Nesbitt is not the worst the UUP coud have ended up with, lets just hope he doesnt get tired as easily as Tom Elliott. Bit of a poisoned chalice his job though, if its even classed as a chalice any more that is. His crowd seem more interested in looking for reasons to fall out and disagree than reasons to pull together.

Re: 24 hours with Mike Nesbitt
As a pensioner without a state pension - for I am far too young and beautiful - & given the recent spate of attacks on my people by evil Dave and his idiot cohorts, I would happily spend 24 hours beating the issues to be concentrated on by Mike into him. Decent guy from my long past experience, hope he has better luck than recent UUP leaders but its a tough old road, too much damage shipped in the last decade or so.
Problem is he wouldn't care for the experience given we used to play on the same junior golf teams & he knows my cantankerous nature. By the way he's not new to the politics game, can't remember if it was his Da or Uncle but Jack Nesbitt was a Unionist Senator in the distant past, not only that, he could sink a whiskey or twelve.

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Re: 24 hours with Mike Nesbitt
Mike's birthday is apparently 11th May.
I wonder what, if anything, the poor people he visits will consider giving him as pressies.
Any suggestions folks?

Can you just imagine having to spend 24 hours with Trevor Brennan?

Thanks for the info, currently the poorest family in NI may be the Quinns of Derrylin.LastKnightoftheproms wrote:Was a UTV news presenter who became a victims commissioner before being a UUP MLA and now leader. Elected a couple of days ago and first big idea is to go and spend 24 hours with a "poor" family to see what they have to put up with.
That the potted version of it.

Re: 24 hours with Mike Nesbitt
Well apparently, following the "success" of his 24 hours with poor Philip Ferris in Armagh, Mike is going
to try and see just what it's like to spend 24 hours on a hospital trolley and possibly find out whether or not he needs any
treatment. What next?

Re: 24 hours with Mike Nesbitt
Whatever next indeed, 24hrs with Trevor Brennan could be on the cards.
This latest news leads me to a question i have pondered often when visiting friends or relations in hospitals... ALL hospital beds appear to be trolleys, so when is a trolley a trolley? Maybe Mike will be able to confirm.

I suppose whilst he is on the trolley he may as well wear an eye patch in order to better relate to and understand folk who are partially sighted.

Re: 24 hours with Mike Nesbitt
Party, Party this weekend? - apparently in a move to possibly woo the Junior Orange Order vote, Mike has been advised to consider drinking white cider for 24 hours to see what it is really like to be an alcoholic.
