I can highly recommend the Dutch thriller series on all 4, 'Amsterdam Vice'. Same time period as Ashes to Ashes with the same attitude.

Thanks for the reminder. Must download that. I'm a bit of a polar exploration nut and a horror fan to boot, so looks good.
All your boxes ticked then. It's a great cast and very good script.

Decided it wasn’t for me, although I only gave it about twenty minutes! Ashes to Ashes wasn’t my thing.

Watched most of Unbelievable on Netflix yesterday about the hunt for a rapist in the States. Reminiscent of True Detective.

Very well acted by the likes of Toni Collette and the lady who starred in Run with Gleeson Jnr. Also at least three actors from the excellent Justified.

for those with access to Sky

" Carter; a Perfect 10," a documentary on the life and career of Dan Carter. Very good , dealing with both the successes and disappointments of his career. Officially just now retired in February 2021, going home from Kobe in Japan to NZ.

Ice Cold Murders on More4, set in the Italian mountains, had been alright so far.

The main copper looks like a more rugged version of Lee Mack and seems rather prone to bending the law himself.

Blinded: Those Who Kill was OK, if not exactly groundbreaking, on BBC4.

Not a great fan of shows when the identity of the killer is known to the viewer throughout though.

The English version of Before We Die comes to Channel 4 this month. It simply can’t be as good as the Swedish original.

I'd call it brilliant.

Kingdom -MMA series on netflix highly reccommend... plenty of action and decent story
(and prob most bloody & raunchy scenes since Banshee which is another Highly reccomended albeit violent show --for anyone who likes to see Convict asssume a sheriffs job by accident.. )

Time - another gritty Jimmy McGovern miniseries.
I'm a big Sean Bean fan and partial to Stephen Graham as well.
Prison must truly horrible.

Don’t remember David Brent doing much breakfast TV.

Gods of Snooker on iPlayer is extremely well done - three hours of stuff on the game in the 70s and 80s.

Plenty of familiar faces and interesting footage of a young, chubby-looking Alex Higgins in the very early days.

Even Ray Reardon turned up. I thought he was about 75 in 1981. Maybe he actually is Dracula after all.

Annika... even now, as I type.

Scottish marine homicide unit (!). Just a wee touch of nordic noir to it, and a nice dry comic element and breaking the fourth wall, which I always like.
