Still FG in leafy D4?
Not quite. FG lost a seat in the constituency that contains D4.

Everyone forgets that there are two communities in that postal district. it's not just the leafy suburbs but also working class flat complexes, old docklands and council houses that make up D4. Places that play football only, not rugby.

Arra come on D4. Nobody forgets that but there's no fun in the truth.

Apparently Corbyn partly blaming you know who on what is officially DAY 5031. Simply ridiculous.

I think that leaves shooting Jill Dando as the only thing he’s never been accused of.

It all boils down to "is midnight the day or the marra?".

Technically, I think it's neither

I can see a logic that says that socialist Sinn Fein will disagree with capitalist DUP about what to do now. And the health of the people as a whole versus guarding the economy could easily produce a different point of balance. What gets my goat is the DUP using the cross community veto shamelessly. It was never meant for situations like this.

It looks like brinkmanship is at the heart of how we do our politics. This is a hopeless way to do things. Actually, I think the consociational structure of Stormont has outlived its usefulness. We need to go to a straightforward government / official opposition. No single party can command a majority so some sort of coalition will be inevitable. If only we could get a decent Alliance party and a decent Labour party.

Solids
Spot on
This convoluted system that we have was designed for a purpose to have power sharing at any cost to get SFin government and stop their provisional wing. But is has proved to be unworkable as a system of strong government and decision making , and covid response needs both. Not sure that simple majority will ever see the day here, and the prospect of Direct Rule must enter the options again. 5 party consensus is impossible and too slow for most issues.

As the graffiti at the bottom of our road says "if you think this is bad, look at what our government is at". London or Dublin, don't mind which....
