On the house prices thing averages in NI are always subject to stupid figures because of low sample number, eg sell 9 @ £100k and 1@ £1m and you suddenly have an average of £190k following month have the expensive one at £2 m and you have an average of £290k . The average figure is easily thrown by 1 or 2 big sales, banks and lenders have little faith in those published averages as a means of determining whether prices are rising

Bad time to buy
Great time to sell your extras (if you can. You may be too late)

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

The estate agent gig combined with the PR campaign are propping up house prices.

We could have had a 3 or 4 bedroomed house on the railway track side of the Lisburn Road for tens of thousands less than the flat we got up the street opposite.
We were after a holiday home and not an investment as such though.
I've been a landlord and didn't much like it.
I'd say spend your hard earned cash on something flash.

Very true
But for people wanting a home to live in
I'm sorely tempted by the 4 bed flat on the Albertbridge Road for 45,000 as a crash pad

Choose any Lisburn Road beyond Lisburn and you'll be grand.
In any event, we're talking NI here, not "the whole of the country" more "a hole of a country".
