As a history buff (WI & II) I've walked through many CWG cemeteries.
They are places of great learning as to how history got it wrong.
Many on this island would seem to have learned little. We are such
a small inward looking people wrapped up in our own self importance.
Agree with all that, Mac. Some people from here would do well to spend a few days in Belgium and Northern France ad learn a bit of history.
Did that as a youngster. Very humbling place, puts a lot of things into perspective about how lucky we are and about how much of a waste of life conflicts are

No story.

When I gey back into work on Monday will do a terrorism check on this guys surname. See who his dad is.

Think we will be pleasantly surprised about the brad pitt storm this wee fella created.

If I was still at QUB I would be proposing a motion to have him thrown out for inciting hatred and attempting to bring the university into disrepute

When I was at QUB there was a motion to close the SU as a mark of respect to a certain soon to be dead hunger striker.
Said motion was also voted down.

That was because the media were banned from the meeting

It was actually a motion proposed by a dyslexic Dupper calling for a Popey ban.
Volunteer at an animal sanctuary; it will fill you with joy , despair, but most of all love, unconditional love of the animals.

The British Legion is asking for ideas as to where they can launch the poppy appeal this year.

Queens would be a good place as such a diverse learning centre would benefit from the experience :red:

I'd say if these forward thinking moderates ban poppy sales that sales will probably increase.
Great to see the future is in safe hands.

Perhaps he should take an Irish history course and see the diversity of those killed and injured in the wars.

Seriously considering writing to QUB asking for them to do something about him before he ruins the international standing of the uni - thus ruining my employment prospects

It's gone way beyond that. Fearon was defeated 40-15 in that one

Sinn Fein have got 700 (2.5%) students to sign a petition for the university to become pro united ireland from its neutral stance

The constitution says they must noa have a referendum

If I were you, I'd be more worried about my online presence and what a prospective employer would make of that....
