Very "conventional" deaths too - couple of cancers, alzheimers, complications from colitis/rheumatoid arthritis.
What happened 'til dying before you get old? Nobody ODs, chokes on their own boke, drives a sportscar into a wall these days or (in the case of old bluesmen) gets poisoned, stabbed and/or shot by a jealous lover.

Volunteer at an animal sanctuary; it will fill you with joy , despair, but most of all love, unconditional love of the animals.
