No. Absolutly no relevance whatsoever.

Agreed. Unlike the PJ/SO case, I don't know nearly enough detail to comment. From what I have heard, it sounds like apples and oranges as far as comparisons go.

I await the feninazi protesting at Belfast Celtic and the media outrage.

now that the dust has settled slightly
The moral of the story is -- you don't go to the Cypriot police with a case they can't prosecute .
I don't doubt she was raped but
The case was weak in that she was videoed having consensual sex with one then accused a group of raping her but in all probability couldn't identify the members of the group guilty of the crime . how can you prosecute the case any 4- or 5 from 12.
Waste of police time . contrast -- witness says consensual encounter -- the claimant not charged with wasting police time
She was never going to go to jail but the police and the Cypriot courts have given out the message
-- GIRLS ---LOOK AFTER YOURSELVES.
because we won't waste time investigating a case which we can't prosecute.
There is also the high probability that the group were told your cards are marked and don't come back here for 5 years because you'll take the next flight home if you do.
Who has given the better message ?

Re: Any views on Cyprus case
NI -- A case goes to court ,cost over a £1M which has no chance in succeeding as the only witness to event said it was consensual .
Cyprus -- take the girl to court for wasting Police time investigating a rape case they could never win. (Due to the claimants conduct and the fact she placed herself in that situation . Police arrest 12 lads -- who raped her --perm any 6 or 7 from 12 she didn't know .
The message of the second case is don't come to the police to if your actions mean the case is unwinable because the courts can and don't protect a victim .
Don't waste police resources.
Not only was police time wasted in NI so was the courts.
