And we have these ads for financial companies the last 10 seconds of which are always "licensed by the central bank of Ireland for conduct of business and regulated by the financial regulator yada yada".
Why?
All they have to do is make it illegal for those without these wondrous protections to exist let alone advertise.
In fact that's probably already the case.
This is just a pat on the back by our toothless protectors to themselves, a way of insinuating that they actually do something for their excessive remuneration 'packages'.

I always follow their advice and drink responsibly Piarse. I man up and take full responsibility for my drinking, it's called being adult. If I end up face down in the gutter staring at Against its my fault.
It's a wee bit like the warning on a bag of peanuts that it contains nuts, if you are so dim not to realise that then you probably can't read the warning anyway !

6/7 years later and no one behind bars yet, the only punishment they got was early retirement with a generous 'package' that's funded by the borrowings of their victims.

Its a sort of small man syndrome the Canadians have. That said, the place is nice and the people are nicer than the yanks. They just have a bit of an inferiority complex.
