Notice that the new coach has already been in touch with DH to get an insight into things. Some might wonder whether that was as one of the more senior respected players in the squad or as a director in the firm that represents many of the out of contract players. Some might see there being a difference.

Some might indeed! Those some being the some who believe that DH would sell Ulster down the swanny in order to make an extra 30 pieces of silver for the firm.

Interview with Matt Williams on Setanta.

The ex-Leinster Setanta pundits (Emmet Byrne and Liam Toland) both were very complimentary about Williams' ability as a coach.

Yes just imagine a businessman not wanting to maximise more worth for his company. I seem to remember one of the other directors of the same firm indicating that players moving would become more common place in the future. I think his advice at the time was that anyone should experience more and sample new things afterall I suspect that is what brought him and others to our shores and that they would admit to being the better for widening their perspective as well as earning a few more bob as well.

ps I have nothing against agents they are now a vital part of sport it would appear, nor the business in question although I think it would be better for UR if so many players were not under one roof and there was less of a monopoly.

Again Cockatrice i have to say your paranoia is getting pretty bad.

Have a little faith in your fellow man, and a widely respected man at that. You claim to be a supporter but then slag the players on the board, not for their play but their integrity.

Possibly one of the reasons we are seen as a joke?

His integrity as a business man would be to ensure that he got the best possible deal for his own clients. If that meant the player should move on or be better served elsewhere it would be wrong to advise him to stay.

I as a person, if asked for my opinion or to advise a younger member of staff what would be in their best interests or the best path for their career, i would not tell them to stay if it wasn't right for them. I would give an honest opinion!

Are you suggesting that Humph should tell all the players to stay, sure maybe we can get them for free too? Humph is a player first, if he actually talks to players regarding contracts i'm sure he would tell them what he honestly thought

Sue- for the record I am not querying Humphs integrity but rather I initially set out to open the discussion on a subject that actually intrigues me. The fact that a player in a side can also act as an agent for some 50% or more of that same squad is at the very least interesting.

I assume that legislation prevents a similar occurrence in other sports as I cannot imagine say Ryan Giggs also having acted as agent for bringing Hargreaves, Nani, Anderson & Tevez into Man Utd this year. However I do not know hence why I might have been interested in others comments.

If you don’t mind my asking I would be interested in your views on those that have gone as far as to suggest that Humph may actually have played a part in the removal of Mark McCall. For the record I do not concur with that view and if I may quote from another post on this site:
Humps won't be playing for us for much longer, so I'm not sure why he's so concerned.....unless ,of course, he's after a coaching post having already helped get rid of his rival. And I wonder if he has any other interest in or influence on certain players' futures?
cap'n- maybe there are some others out there expressing these views.

I asked for a justification for this and a similar previous comment. None was forthcoming that I can recall.
