Funny how he keeps smiling after shooting himself in the foot so many times.

Notice they have not loaded the ammunition as a safety precaution to all those within range

Re: brilliant!
A cynic might suggest that's because he's got better body armour and kit than some of the armed forces he sends to Afghanistan or Iraq!Ball Boy wrote:Funny how he keeps smiling ......
Not that I would be that cynical ..........!!!!!!
Re: brilliant!
What an a*rse - has their ever been a PM who understood the Armed Forces less than him? See below a quote from John Miller in the Spectator blog on this.
It never fails to amaze me how crass Brown's communications and PR advisers are. Ok, it would be a Herculean task to sell Brown to the big, wide world, but pictures like these are just appalling.
Flak jacket over suit posing behind a machine gun in a gunship... Who did they think would look at this and think "Good old Gordon!"?
Conversely, when someone in the bunker saw it why didn't they think "Prat"?
Sometimes I think Brown wants to screw the electorate for hating him and the Labour Party wants to screw Gordon Brown and the rest of us want to screw the Labour Party. What a country.
Re: brilliant!
It was not as it seems by reports
The gunner was sitting to Brown's right out of view of the photographer, he accidently let go of the gun and it swung round on the tripod to look like Brown was posing that way, like all good photographers one of the press got the scoop snap before the Downing street PR crew noticed what had happened, they tried in vain to stop the photos going live but the wise photographer had already transmitted them back to base But hey that ruins a good old fashioned newspaper scoop.

Re: brilliant!
nah, saw the actual TV video, when he got jacketed up. There was no gunner, just him. He looked really uncomfortable, and then looked up, saw the camera, and smiled trying to look the part as if he was enjoying it. He really wasn't. The actual pic was taken by another photographer standing beside the TV cameraman and was a posed shot.

Re: brilliant!
He doesn't look at though he enjoys it because he doesn't like the Armed Forces. However, I don't think I would enjoy it much if I were wearing a suit ( ) in Iraq in July then had to wear body armour over it.
His press people obviously need to do a 'remedial PR' course.
Anyway, after last night's result in Glasgow he will find it hard to raise a smile like this one for some time I would have thought.....
