Malone have appointed Jarleith Carey as their player/coach for the 2009/10 season, in succession to Andy Dougan.
Dougan is stepping down because of increased business and family commitments but still hopes to assist when time permits.
"It is a great honour to be asked to coach Malone and I hope to build on the foundations that Andy has laid," said Carey following his appointment.
Carey has been contracted to Ulster Rugby for the past few seasons.
