1995 - 2010 Capped games

Post by cables »

With 15 seasons of professional rugby now completed, I thought I would share a few Ulster stats covering the period:
1995 - 2010 Capped games.JPG
1995 - 2010 Capped games.JPG (35.82 KiB) Viewed 752 times
I am chasing a possible error in a single game without much success but the above should be within 5 points.

Any info on points scored against us Cables?

The Magners League stat stands out, we need to work on that one over the next few years, along with the HC.

Will do.

I agree regarding the ML but would state it perhaps as the earlier (CL) being better than the later (ML).

I would be interested in individual player performances - most 10 capped players perhaps ?

Brilliant - many thanks

Some memories there re names and for me much scratching of head - mainly because 1998-99 was my first year.

150 games is a hugh target - worth celebrating when Paddy makes it

Tremendous achievement for Fitzy given he toddled off to Castres for a spell.

I don't doubt your stats at all but did I really miss D Roach actually playing? I Thought he had managed to be here without ever troubling the record books - was it a friendly?

Paddy Wallace to top the list before long or will Bryn play enough to hold him off for a while yet?

Rory Best to clock up the ton shortly. Ferris to stay long enough to become the first Ulster player to top 200 ?

Before you insult somebody you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you insult them you'll be a mile away and have their shoes!

12. Mark McCall
13. Ryan Constable
14. Andrew Trimble

A Robinson is maybe Alan - former CAI boy. 6'6" or so second row - and was probably playing at Ballymena at the time. What season(s) did he play in?

And Spencer Bromley rings a bell. Where from and when did he come to Ulster?

Good shout stu, but for me Simon Mason (and his radar-like boot) must be in any classic Ulster selection. Worth at least 9 points just having him on the pitch!

I didn't know Filo Paulo ever got on for us in a capped game. I remember him playing in several friendlies and 'A' games, but I thought the reason he left was that he couldn't get a work permit to play as a professional player on our books and as such was never included in our squads. Did he get special dispensation for a game or something, or have I just remembered it completely wrong?

Filo Paulo certainly got a cap when he came on as a replacement in the famous win over Munster at Thomond. I don't think there was any problem with him playing for Ulster.. getting paid was the issue.
