BJ is Going Home

Post by scrum5 »

According to BJ on his Facebook page this is his last season at Ulster.
Personally, I’m relishing the chance to get some silverware in my last season with Ulster
Hopefully he means his last season of his current contract, but it doesn't look good.....full article can be found here http://www.bjbotha.com/my-blog/2010/08/ ... -down-time

I think it probably is his last season at Ulster. He seems to prefer the lifestyle in his native land. Good luck to him; he's been great for us, and he will continue to be. Sounds really focused on going out on a high with us this year. Lets hope he can.

Maybe he will go but I reckon a lot will depend on how this season goes. If we are challenging and he is enjoying playing with the new Bok boys and we waive a fat new contract he might be tempted to stay. Here's hoping :D

Good luck to him when he does return home, he will have given us a good three years at that point.

Give ourselves the option of an NIQ elsewhere and sign Andress.

Lovely beaches: water ten degrees warmer. Great wines and cheap, cheap meat too. Temperatures ten to fifteen degrees warmer - can't understand it meself!! :D :o
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Ulster prop BJ Botha has been linked with an early return to South African club rugby in time for next year's Super 15 season.

Johannesburg-based franchise The Lions are desperate to recruit experienced internationals and Botha is one of a host of players reported to be on their wish list, together with South Africa captain John Smit and fellow Springboks JP Pietersen, Butch James, Joe van Niekerk and Ryan Kankowski.

Botha has been featuring in the Springboks' Tri Nations campaign this summer and is understood to be keen on returning to South Africa with a year to go until the World Cup. However, Botha is still under contract at Ulster and a switch would require a substantial transfer fee to be paid to Ravenhill.

The Lions have financial backing, but very poor form. Cant see BJ wanting to go there.

That and Joburg is nowhere near as nice as Durban.
Why? Why not?

Just seen BJ tweet this ''What a day.....5 meetings this morning, got some pics and jerseys framed and then got spoilt at Puma!''
Wouldn't wanna jump to conclusions but its not looking good for us holding onto BJ. Me suspects that the meetings were talks with club(s) about returning to S.A.

Come on Ulster!!!

Looks like the Blue Bulls are going to be short a prop for a year or two.
