I heard they will be hiding them up the offenders rectum and he can retrieve it when he goes home, if he farts and thus blows vuvuzela then he will be ejected from ground immediatelyAnyone bringing a vuvuzela to the ground on Friday evening will be asked to hand it over to stewards for safe keeping until they are leaving the ground.

Extreme Rooster but bleedin' hilarious
Before you insult somebody you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you insult them you'll be a mile away and have their shoes!

Just gettin bleedin fed up with all the rules these days. Do you remember a time not long ago, when you could stand pitch side, take a drink from a bottle which you could reseal and put back in your pocket, let your child stand on a step so they could see over the barrier, watch the game without a HiViz vest in your face for half of it, for the rest of it you didnt have some k**b with a walkie talkie staring you out and at the end of the game the kids could go on and congratulate their team?
I am almost at the point where I would delibrately go out, buy one of these things and smuggle it in just to p*ss the fun police off
gawd just been watchin Grumpy Old Men on the box - its obviously rubbed off

Re: Vuvazela
are bugles exempt from this ban?

Re: Vuvazela
So, turns out Ulster Rugby are turning into Belfast Giants. Think about it... Belfast Giants attracted a strong crowd through marketing, then introduced lots of health and safety rules... so they banned flags (the official Belfast Giants flags included). Then they banned drums. Then horns. Then fun. Now they are dying on their Brennan.
It's the start of a slippery slope. Next they'll be playing 'hilarious' music interludes between breaks in play for organised fun.
Every season the nanny that is UR is getting worse. A few people complain and this happens... anyone hear the horns being blown when opposition are kicking, or was this just added to by those complaining to give some gravitas?
Sigh.

Re: Vuvazela
To be honest they are a pain in the Brennan. Obviously the differnce with horns and drums and alike is you can play a tune and get everyone involved....if someone can demonstrate this with vuvuzelas then fire away. The fact is though that in South Africa where they invented the things, and use anything they can to play music for any occassion fairly well, and even they can only use it for an never-ending drone makes me think it might be pretty difficult!VuvazelaMan wrote:So, turns out Ulster Rugby are turning into Belfast Giants. Dont think comparing rugby to ice hockey is a great call either!
Re: Vuvazela
Why not get a wee French style band going on the terrace, much better than one of those vuvythings.
Reason they are banning them could well be down to health and safety aspect as the noise emmitted is well above what is deemed safe to hearing, therefore if some Brennan is blowing one in someones ear he is liable to damage their hearing which could lead to someone being sued, on the other hand those surrounding the vuvything blower may take the law into their own hands and shove it where the sun don't shine, and there is possibly a health and safty aspect to that as well

Re: Vuvazela
Why not compare them (Ice Hockey and Rugby)? At the moment a sizeable chunk of the crowd at Ravenhill have never played Rugby (unlike years ago) - much like Ice Hockey. Don't get me wrong, that's not a bad thing. However, a lot of those that do love playing rugby and have played it since 11 have been put off going to The Hill by the high ticket prices, the high viz brigade, the constant barrage of H&S and the blazer squad running the place, and stick to grass roots rugby (which is the major difference between the sports - one has huge grass roots support and one is just a marketing machine... but I'm suggesting that the similarities at the professional end are increasing, which isn't necessarily a good thing)

noooooooo!!! We'll sound like feckin' England footy team, I'm h a p p y..etc etc etc No thanks,Rooster wrote:Why not get a wee French style band going on the terrace, much better than one of those vuvythings?
What we really need is more crowd singing and people to get involved, supporters chants maketh the atmosphere!
Ulster fans just seem pretty dire at singing and joining in, 2BC not included of course

Re: Vuvazela
Ticket prices aren't high. It's £140.00 for a season ticket to see football in this neck of the woods and look how crap that is?the high ticket prices
Re: Vuvazela
would hardly call it a barrage of h and s. As dicussed elsewhere there has been the change to the prom and more visible security but dont think people being given coke bottles with no lids is a massive issue!
And the reason I wouldnt compare rugby to ice hockey is the player base and general interst in it.
No significant history of ice hockey in the UK nevermind Ireland. Its a pretty specialist sport in that you need and ice rink to play it at any level, a lot of money needs to be spent on equipment and also how many of the players are from NI?
Whereas rugby, massive fan and player base, huge history, can play it an anywhere (all you needs is a ball) and also 80% of the team are from NI. So the only similarity is they are professional sports that have had to make a few marketing and safety decisions which have upset a few people.
I'd say UR will get more fans throught the gate on the back of the food village and stadium modernisation than they'll lose on banning vuvuzelas and coke lids!

Re: Vuvazela
I agree with the bit about the atmosphere being created by the fans singing. Problem as I see it is this - has anybody got any good new songs, and I emphasise the good? Plus, where are fans supposed to pick up any new songs?noooooooo!!! We'll sound like feckin' England footy team, I'm h a p p y..etc etc etc No thanks,
