Just back from Clermont.
What a fabulous atmosphere,
They have great supporters who were extremely friendly and gracious.
Our team did us proud and the physicality was exceptional.
Nice to see the young guns coming through.
What a difficult destination to get to!

If you can enjoy a loss that would have been as close to it as you would get I suppose. :salut:

On reflection, it was up there with the best atmosphere I have ever experienced at a rugby match.

The Auvergnais just sang away all the time, especially after a score: <bouncing>Qui ne saute pas n'est pas Auvergnat!</bouncing><bouncing>Qui ne saute pas n'est pas Auvergnat!</bouncing>

They were lovely to us before and after the match.

That's what makes rugby a special game. Can't wait for Saturday. What a prospect: three huge matches in a row. We will all be divorced!

Drico back, Heaslip named but faces a fitness test tomorrow.

15 Isa Nacewa, 14 Shane Horgan, 13 Brian O'Driscoll, 12 Gordon D'Arcy, 11 Fergus McFadden, 10 Johnny Sexton, 9 Eoin Reddan; 1 Cian Healy, 2 Richardt Strauss, 3 Mike Ross, 4 Leo Cullen, 5 Nathan Hines, 6 Sean O'Brien, 7 Shane Jennings 8 Jamie Heaslip/Dom Ryan.

Bench; 16 Jason Harris-Wright, 17 Heinke vd Merwe, 18 Clint Newland, 19 Devin Toner, 20 Dom Ryan/Rhys Ruddock, 21 Isaac Boss, 22 Shaun Berne, 23 Dave Kearney

Very harsh on Boss who had a good game last week. I assume it's more than a simple rotation and that Schmidt has a plan.

Scarries win in Paris is a great result for Leinster - if they polish off Clermont at home.

half time score Leinster 10 - 3 Clermont,Healey got the try after a great high tempo start from Leinster, then Clermont dominated most of the half with possession and territory, only for Sexton to get a penalty near the end of the half,a bit of niggle creeping in,may have a good punch up.

Two teams playing a different style of rugby at the moment.

Leinster couldn't have asked for much more in a game that was tighter than the scoreline expect perhaps a bonus point which would have been hard on Clermont.

Beat Scarries - win the group unless something bizarre happens.

One of the top teams in Europe currently and certainly the best in Ireland by some distance.

Well done Leinster although one thing they won't be happy about is not grabbing that bonus point once they were in a position to go for it.
