Stand naming

Post by Starsky »

Apologies if this has been discussed before and I know there is a thread about the stadium redevelopment. If there are going to be 3 new stands built at Ravenhill, would you agree that 1 or 2 of them could be dedicated to fine servants of Ulster rugby over the years? If so, who would you want to name a stand after? WJM, Jack Kyle, Mike Gibson? Is it to soon for a stand named after Humph?

Perhaps the fans could have a say and vote to name one of the new structures?

sentiment is all well and good, but if someone is willing to stump up some cash in order to fund a new stand UR will rightly accept it and let them name it

Interesting thought, wonder what market there might be for naming rights at a club ? Can't imagine it would be enormous so naming them after great Ulster rugby names would be good enough.

Other facilities could also be named after suitable players, "Das Boat" changing rooms, the NOC Memorial Bog, The Ian Humphreys Turnstiles, The Mike Read "Circle of Fatty Food Purveyors", The Ryan Constable Boardroom for contract signing, The Joelli Vitayaki fitness suite, The Peter Bills press box for Wangs, The Ronnie Flanigan Security post to coordinate the Terrace Nazis from. the possibilities are endless.

Before you insult somebody you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you insult them you'll be a mile away and have their shoes!

Well if we build three new stands, we'll definately need a new name for the 'new stand'

Should have been named on its opening. Jack Kyle stand would have done.

Before it's knocked down, the current (old) stand could be renamed "The Last Stand"
