Sell Windsor and Ravenhill.
Buy land within 15 minutes stroll of city centre.
Build 20000 seat stadium with some convertible seats to terracing.

Job done.

But the soccer is often already disadvantaged at the likes of LR,Millennium, SdF, ... A 'traditional' soccer ground tends to have the crowd much closer the tha action (particularly behind the goal line). If you look at the likes of Adams Park, Loftus Rd, etc - the goal area for rugby is artificially small for this reason.
Its really not thought. Having been at a couple of the recent NI games in the Aviva there was no issue at all with viewing distance!

Lansdowne was a poor example on my part - pitchside is still very much that. Generally though big modern stadia have a large gap between goal line and punters (compared to traditional soccer grounds). I take your point though that it is insignificant compared to a the deadball area provided by a GAA ground.

Buy land within 15 minutes stroll of city centre. Up near the TQ would do nice - but now you've linfield to consider
Build 20000 seat stadium with some convertible seats to terracing. This wouldnt work too great - the chances of a >20k crowd are more likely to be for a football match and they cant have standing at that. Standing for UR matches works well but get 6k standing and the place will feel as full as the Liberty

Job done.
I do think its a shame that when the monies were dished out that the rugby and soccer couldnt pool theirs and do something decent. I blame the IFA for that daft windsor lease

great spot the sirocco works the folks in Short Strand would love it.

The last time this Ulcer raised its head it was debated on the board for about 3 years before someone saw sense and kicked the whole thing out the window.

The Ulster branch have got their plans sorted bar approval I suppose the IFA are are something similiar. Can this "region " what ever that refers to sit back and debate the ass off this subject again?

The money is there now will it be in 3 years time ?

With so much planned for the Maze it doesn't need a Stadia .
