I can't believe anyone would be so childish as to get annoyed by someone not making the distinction between Northern Irish and Irish. It's a very small, unimportant trivial thing.

This is the island of Ireland we live on after all. When the World Cup rolls around, we'll be supporting Ireland. Our squad contains a number of homegrown Irish nationals. We're an influential pillar of the Irish Rugby Football Union.

Wtf do you think people from other rugby nations see us as? Whilst there may be a distinction in politics, there is none in rugby. And has it escaped you notice he's coming to Ulster- a team that represents nine counties across the border?

I am not Irish, as I would class Irish people as those who are born in Eire, the Republic of Ireland or Ireland if you would prefer.
Or the hundreds of thousands of us Norn Iron types with Irish passports eh? 8)

i actually wondered about the following this morning:

a friend of the wife's has just had a baby
her and the husband are very nationalist - well into embracing the irish/gaelic culture.

speak the language. GAA. etc.

now, can i get their firstborn an irish rugby top (kiddy sized)?
i mean, it's an all-ireland team and stuff, but it is a protestant/british sport...
Left hand, right hand, it doesn't matter. I'm amphibious.

I liked this tweet from Jared Payne:

thepain15: @Andi_Stevo was keen on a move n some travel. Looks like there's a good thing happening with ulster to so keen to be part of that

Now some shameless self-promotion! I set up a website similar to the 'Ulster Twits' page on URSC site only for all the Pro12 teams - have a look if you're interested and let me know what you think via the contact page. I haven't completely tested everything but it'd be good to get some feedback!

Depends if it's his relatives in Cambridge England he is going to see or in Cambridge in NZ whether it helps his jet lag

Good job Big Nose, had a look and looks a very professional job, well done. Have bookmarked it. :thumright:
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
