Embarrassing

Post by Lisburnsooty »

That Ulster / Glasgow pile of cr@p was live on RTE last night.

How embarrassing !

We are light years behind Leinster and Munster. Even after all the 'top drawer' signings.

While I agree it was just inept, 3 of the 'Top Signings' were missing plus Ferris, Best, Gilroy and Henry. For a variety of reasons no doubt including player welfare, McL also selects players who are clearly not very good at the moment. Danielli looks done and Diack has always promised more than he has delivered. I'm also coming around to the belief that Faloon is also not operating at his best although that isn't really surprising as he has had few opportunities this season. It may also be true that he isn't good enough. It was also clear from last week that Humphreys is injured.

There are also those who complain about D'Arcy dropping a high ball. Below is a complete list of all those professional and even world class fullbacks who have never dropped a ball.

Ive been an ulster man all my life, i watched them against conaught in front of 400 people on a dreary sat afternoon during the 80's, ive ben a season ticket holder for a decade, i was in leicester last weekend and ill be in monza in a few weeks. I was embarrassed last night, the rugby were playing at the minute is pathetic.

So lets blame Afoa, Payne, Pienaer for our bad performance... oh wait they weren't playing :banghead:

Ok its those howm grown superstars who are to blame , Ferris, Wallace and Best, ..oh wait they weren't playing either :banghead:

Please engage brain before opening mouth next time Lisburn :duh:

Davey - just what we need another over the top reaction.. as if we haven't had enough on here already.

No guys last night was EMBARRASSING. Our players need to understand that that sort of performance was not good enough. To try and make excuses for them is wrong. This is what they make a living at. If the average man in the street kept making the same errors in work they would be sacked.

I said after the Treviso game that the players should be murdered at training on Monday. After last night I would have them in on Sunday. Dock their wages after that performance. They need to learn that was simply not good enough - AGAIN

That may well be the case but that doesn't justify Lisburn complaining about players who weren't selected or Davey implying it is as bad as it has been for 35 years....hell its not even the worst performance this year !

Really do think this is an over reaction. We were very close to winning a game away from home against a half decent side. Clearly it wasn't in the best of conditions so the strategy was to kick for position and take it from there. From the start of the 2nd half to about 10 minutes to go we were the team that was going to win it despite a malfunctioning lineout. Bad result and really disappointed myself but not embarrassing.

Agree partly. Glasgow despite being very poor is a hard place to go and get a win regardless. We can't just huff because we lost although there needs to be some changes to the side. Gilroy straight back in please. Terblanche pass yer test and get over here. Pienaar, Henry, Ferris, Best all need to be back soon and Afoa wil be crucial.

Its a bad result. We should have a good team out this Friday tho will the Scarlets be weakened much by Wales playing Australia?

Pienaar, Afoa, Ferris, Best, Gilroy should all be playing. Then we can judge a little better. Personally I cant wait too see Pienaar again.

Matthew Rees, Rhodri Jones, Tavis Knoyle, Rhys Priestland, Jonathan Davis, Scott Williams, George North and Liam Williams.

6 of those were in the starting team and 1 on the bench that beat Northampton last weekend in the HEC.

Missing 5 from 7 of their 1st XV backline.

They were missing them a few weeks back and still beat us...... The game against Scarlets is a must win game going into the back to backs against Aironi, don't know if Afoa will be back, hopefully Stefan will be at fullback with Gilroy on the wing, Ruan hoping to get 20 minutes against Scarlets would maybe rest Dan and start Stevenson, not because Dan's playing poor but just to rest him for Aironi.....

After next week we'll be able to judge where we are in relation to other teams as we'll have RP, 1F, best and afoa back

if we can't beat the taffies then we're not gonna stand a chance at anything - challenging the westerners for the 3rd HEC place

if we beat them, but allow them an LBP then its ok, but with the predicted side they'll put out, it won't be optimal :duh:

if we beat them and deny them the LBP then that's even better, we're back in the RDP12 race and we're ready for aironi * :salut:

If we hammer them and get the try BP then we'll be questioning if we had any problems at all :thumleft: :red:

* my prediction
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

How would our season be shaping up right now had Pienaar and Payne both avoided injury? Thoughts anyone?

We could be top of the league and 2 for 2 in the HEC with a bonus for each.*

If two players made that difference, we'd still be in trouble.
