NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

But no one carrying a knock comes near the pitch, and just in case, I would rest Ferris. After all we dont want to show our full hand against the side we may play in the final, if they get there!

Re: Ulster Vs Ladyboys
Baggy I think the majoirty of people on the board want Macklin to start with Court. I'd then bring TC off with 20/30 minutes left and bring on Paddy Mac in his place, as well as taking of Peinaar, Trimble, Muller, P3. We need as many first team guys as possible, so take them off as soon as possible.
Not everyone is like Ferris and can play on one leg

Two points:breakdown wrote:Anyway, play the full team apart from Ferris for 50/60 minutes, pray for no injuries and then empty the bench and let the youngersters have a run out.
1. You spelt youngsters incorrectly
2. Do you mean youngsters or just the subs bench? If you do mean youngsters, I'd have to disagree with you. We need as full a team as possible on Friday, no chance of blooding any new players at this stage.
This as the team?
15. Terblanche
14. Trimble
13. Cave
12. Wallace
11. Gilroy
10. Humphreys/Jackson (was very impressed with Jacko, any chance McGlocks will give him a chance?)
9. Pienaar
1. Court
2. Best
3. Macklin
4. Muller (c)
5. Tuohy
6. Henry
7. Faloon
8. Wannenburg
16. Brady, 17. McAllister, 18. Black, 19. Stevenson, 20. Ferris, 21. Humphreys/Jackson, 22. Spence/Whitten (last home match may get him selected instead), 23. D'Arcy

Too late for Jackson.
I'd go with Court and PaddyMac.

Re: Ulster Vs Ladyboys
I meant both, empty the bench with some youngsters on it ie Jackson, Birch. Young guys that have played and we know can do the job.
Too late to introduce Jackson into the first team now, bring him of the bench but dont start him.

Re: Ulster Vs Ladyboys
The only youngsters I would bring in are Jackson, Macklin (is he a youngster?) and Birch (only if Ferris will take no part in the match though).

Its only too late include Jackson when Pienaar kicks off next weekend. In his current form iHumph is a liability to Ulster.againstthehead wrote:Too late for Jackson.

Re: Ulster Vs Ladyboys
He's the best option we have though and I would expect him to play the next 2 games, maybe give Jackson a start down at TP?

Out of interest will the big AIL games this weekend influence whether Birch, Macklin etc are involved?

Re: Ulster Vs Ladyboys
No matter what happens over the next two weeks (bar an injury to Jackson obviously) I think he'll start at Thomond. Hopefully at 10, think he's better there than 12 where we have plenty of talent pushing through.breakdown wrote:...maybe give Jackson a start down at TP?
Definitely not. Ulster comes first, no exceptions.gannonman wrote:Out of interest will the big AIL games this weekend influence whether Birch, Macklin etc are involved?

Re: Ulster Vs Ladyboys
It has been emphasised many times that bringing clubs up into Division 1A would be key in the development and success of Ulster rugby. Two sides have a fantastic chance this weekend to make that happen. Don't see why it should take a back seat when Ulster are chasing a play off place that is going to be difficult to get.
