If Ulster are the home team

If Ulster are the home team
then why did Trimble have to go to Dublin to toss a coin to secure the home changing room?
Re: If Ulster are the home team
Think the game is played at a neutral venue in the country of the home team so neither team has offical 'home advantage'
Re: If Ulster are the home team
Yip - we're not the home team. This is an ERC run game.
Bit like when we were the designated 'home' team for the Celtic Cup final at Murrayfield.

Re: If Ulster are the home team
OK so even if we developed Ravers into a 55k arena we'd still have to go to the Aviva/Windsor Park for a semi final?

Interestingly on the 55k Ravenhill. How do you envisage that would go? 5K on current terrace, 2k on both the ends, 49k in 100m high replacement for the old stand? Would be something.
Re: If Ulster are the home team
Rotate the pitch 90 degrees; the footprint available that way is actually about the same size as the plot for the Aviva; access around the stadium probably better at Ravers, as well...
Re: If Ulster are the home team
once we achieve world domination I envisage the puchase of all the houses on Ravenhill Park Gdns and the annoying wee corner of Onlsow Parade, and anyone else who complains will also be out

We are the home team now because Trimbie won the toss

Were there any Embra players there? Watching the Beeb News coverage of it I only saw Trimble and Terblanche. Thought they'd keep it "neutral" and invite even just one Embra player over.
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

Maybe that was a 'perk' of being the team with home country advantage??ruckover wrote:Were there any Embra players there? Watching the Beeb News coverage of it I only saw Trimble and Terblanche. Thought they'd keep it "neutral" and invite even just one Embra player over.
Re: If Ulster are the home team
Obviously Bradley has started the 'mind games' early.
This from 2009:
This from 2009:
Heineken Cup champions Munster will use the "away" team dressing room at Croke Park when they meet Leinster in the all-Ireland semi-final in the 82,300 Dublin stadium on Saturday, 2 May
Following a coin toss today Leinster, who won the toss, will occupy the dressing room used by Declan Kidney's Ireland team for their home internationals.
No coin toss was required for the semi-final showdown at the Millennium Stadium (Blues v Tigers) on Sunday, 3 May, as each team got the dressing room of their choice.

Will Sparky be allowed to go, or because it is 'neutral' he will be banned?
