Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
Wouldn't be surprised if he turned his back, i'm sure he is 'in demand' given what he has done over the past 3 seasons with us. While I want him to join the academy because it is an important job, he probably is annoyed how the thing was handled and wants to look for a better job else where, probably on more money too...

Taking a path that was very recently red?by cardoc » Mon Apr 23, 2012 8:55 pm
I heard that Brian may not be taking up the academy post after all, he may have been headhunted by a prominent establishment across the water.

Gloucester? Or what about something closer to home??
"But going forward, at Ulster Rugby, one thing will never change. As long as this great club exists, the person and the player, Nevin Spence, will never be forgotten."

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
We need Brian to stay. If he doesn't, we won't be making any headway in the Academy, as was the plan when we offered the job to him.
BUT:
1. UR have already said he will take up an Academy role. Sounds like a pen-on-paper deal has been done, and if he was to turn his back on that it would look very bad on his part.
2. He has a family here to cater for. Don't think he'd want to desert them in a hurry.
I think he'll stay. Gut feeling

You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

Ruckover, please tell me you have posted this on the wrong thread? It was meant to be on Joke of the day? A very sick joke?ruckover wrote:Possibly Neil Best and an NIQ back rower? Part of bringing back a lot of homegrown players?
But then again it could be connected with the plans to move the War Memorial Arch - to fit his head in.

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS!!
If any of the coaches or players want to leave a potentially great , on the up team for a fading English side or an over-rated welsh one, then they can go. Don't think we would have a problem replacing them.

I agree, don't under estimate the influence of Muller, Pienaar, Afoa and Terblanche in getting us to this level.nonplussed wrote:If mcglock goes elsewhere I can't help thinking he'd be found out

Neil’s new coach role
5:00pm Friday 16th March 2012 in News
WORCESTER Warriors’ former Ireland flanker Neil Best has been appointed Warwickshire’s new head coach for their forthcoming County Championship campaign.
Best, who won 18 international caps, will combine the Warwickshire role with his playing commitments at Worcester.
Best is an RFU level two-qualified coach but is working towards his level three standard.
Gary Watts, chairman of the Warwickshire senior side, said: “His experience of working with international and Premiership coaches will bring a slightly different edge to what we are doing.
“He doesn’t suffer fools and seems to be a straight-down-the-line guy.
Only took up the appointment a month or so ago. Can't see him coming back here.
