Ah, the old British Army connection......

Is the St Patrick's cross on "the list"?

Just for the record I'll be at Twickenham in May to support ULSTER with my Northern Ireland ULSTER fleg. Am I ashamed to come from Northern Ireland....... NO; am I ashamed of my religion.... NO; am I ashamed to be a British passport holder... NO; am I ashamed to have an Irish Passport... NO and guess what I will be comfortable with whatever version of ULSTER fleg you bring.

btw.... what is wrong with Ulster Jews supporting ULSTER .... and do I not recall a Japanese fleg at Ravenhill having had an elderly relative tortured during his capture I have little time seeing the Rising Son over Ravenhill.... but we all move on don't we.

I stand to be corrected, but none of the boys I saw acting the complete ar$ehole yesterday had a yella flag. Their fleg of choice seemed to be the old Stormount wan.

"essentially"

Hmmmm.

Do spill. I wonder what the difference is? (Checks UB headed paper I have in my hand).

The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked.

I wise man once told me that.

(Or maybe I saw it on tv. Doesn't really matter I suppose.)

Welcome on board.

You getting one with a wee UF in the corner? Might help get the neutral English fans at the match behind us.

Hmm. Fair point. Excuse my idiocy.

I am however sure there is a crest representing ub with red stripes on a yellow background. Perhaps it's an older version or only used in four province contexts.

What do the UB use on their headed paper and website?

A wee check and you'll be sure of that too.

Yes I've checked that but I'm sure there's another version. I think it's up on the wall in the branch. As I say, might be older

You really are a bit special. I honestly don't think you are as naive as you let on, but what we're taking about here is Ulster fans' opinion on what flags we find acceptable/preferable to be on display at Ulster rugby games.

Read these forums a lot don't usually post especially not on these so-called flag debates but this time I will. Some of the postings people make about blow-ins and football fans on this forum really is just snobbery disguised.
Emmm . . . . not really. Im no snob and go to plenty of N.I games.

But I dont take a Union Jack to Northern Ireland matches either.

I also go to support them, because im a supporter, not because it seems like a fun thing to do.

I think im quite justified in calling the people I encountered yesterday as blow ins because:

They had the Union Jack flag and were wearing N.I Football shirts and this is their conversation I caught!
"feck good wee day this"

"Aye, good pissup on the bus, will we even go the match"

"Not bothered, we could just sit here and watch the football"
Mary had a little lamb . . .

The Ulster Branch uses BOTH white and yellow crests - so to use the term 'essentially' is to say the least ballix.

Could be. Hardly important though, much like the whole NI/UF flag issue really.

A whole big fuss about nothing.
